Happy World Architecture Day.

The theme for 2023 was determined by the International Union of Architects (UIA) as "Architecture for Resilient Communities". With this theme, the UIA aims to place special emphasis on architecture's capacity and responsibility to create a livable community life, initiating an international debate on the relationship between urban and rural areas in all countries. “Uncontrolled urban sprawl around the world threatens the world's environmental, social and economic balance. Climate crises, global pandemics and political unrest in many countries have exposed social, economic and environmental inequalities that threaten communities around the world and disproportionately impact poor and marginalized groups. The world faces a difficult task in how best to respond to today's climatic and social challenges. “This situation brings to the agenda the issue of the effectiveness and adequacy of traditional planning tools for organizing regions and producing architecture that respects the environment and society.” Source: ARKITERA
